The Kite Academy specialises in providing high quality, professional kitesurfing lessons on the South Coast of England. We run our kitesurf training at Bracklesham Bay, West Sussex - an idyllic location for learning to kitesurf that's approximately an hour and a half’s drive from London.

The Kite Academy is affiliated to the IKO (International Kiteboarding Organisation). The training and qualifications that we offer are internationally recognised for their quality and safety levels and will enable you to kitesurf and hire equipment anywhere in the world.

Kitesurf lesson options:

The Kitesurf Taster Session will enable you to try the sport without making a commitment to doing a full course.

The Full IKO Kitesurfing Course is run over two days and is designed to take you to the stage where you’re a proficient and independent rookie kitesurfer.

The One Day Improvers Course is for people who have been on the full course and want to perfect getting up on the board and riding in both directions.

One to One Tuition is for those who want to fast-track their progression.

Supervised Hire will enable you, once you have completed your full course, to try out different equipment before buying your own with the comfort of knowing that our safety boat is on hand in case you need help.

Kitesurfing is a mix of wakeboarding, windsurfing, power-kiting and surfing. There’s nothing to compare to it when it comes to a pure adrenaline sport. And don’t be put off by thinking that you need to be super fit to learn. Kitesurfing is practiced by a wide range of people in terms of age and fitness level.

The long, empty beaches between Bracklesham Bay and Selsey provide an idyllic and beautiful location to learn kitesurfing. We’ll use our safety boat to ferry you to a quiet spot on the beach, away from other beach users, so that you can practice in a safe, fun and relaxed environment.

We only use the highest quality, up-to-date equipment for teaching with and for our supervised rental service. We don’t sell Kitesurfing equipment ourselves but we have a strong link with Andy Biggs Watersports. Once you’ve completed your Kitesurfing lessons you’ll receive a discount voucher entitling you to a 10% discount on all kitesurfing equipment at Andy Biggs Watersports.
